Camellia sinensis, more commonly referred to as the 'tea plant' is thought to be one of the first plants cultivated on earth, with its origin dating back to over 5000 years. Despite the many myths regarding teas original birth place, it was in fact China who held the secrets to both the cultivation and manufacturing of tea up until the nineteenth century.
Herbal tea can be described as a single or blend of botanicals (leaves, flowers, stems, seeds and roots)

which are infused in water to extract individual flavours, aromas and characteristics.
The history or herbal tea stretches back as far as the more traditional teas, as for centuries, indigenous tribes across the world have known the true benefits of herbs and utilised them in a myriad of ways for their health, wellness and beautifying attributes.
